As I write this, there are over 167,383 cases with having taken the lives of +6,503 people. On the positive note, 76,437 have recovered (which the media doesn’t seem to be interested in).

Passengers arriving from Wuhan Airport to Changi airport were put through temperature screening for the flu-like outbreak.
7 Jan
Chinese authorities identified the virus as – Coronavirus.
France confirms the first European case…
HOW IS IT TRANSMITTED? From an infected person when they inhale particles from coughing or sneezing or touching a surface where the droplets land.
11 Jan
It was announced that the first Coronavirus death was from a 61 year old man in Wuhan who died of heart failure on Jan 9.
22 Jan
500 infected and 17 deaths and the WHO declares an international health emergency.
SYMPTOMS: Fever, shortness of breath & severe cough.
25 Jan
Travel restrictions imposed on a further 5 cities in Hubei.
30 Jan
Russia closes a 4,345 km border with China and the US reports its first case.
WHO declared the Coronavirus a global emergency.
31 Jan
The Trump Administration denies entry to foreign nationals who have travelled in China in the last 14 days.
02 Feb
First death outside of China in the Philipines.
09 Feb
Death total goes over 800 in China overtaking SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).
11 Feb
The WHO officially names the disease caused by the Coronavirus as COVID-19.

South Africa confirms its first case…
CNN’s Fear & Greed Index dropped to 14, showing that ‘Fear’ is overpowering the US markets which confirms the continuous downside
8 March
Over 100 countries report cases of COVID-19.
Major Price war breaks out between Saudi Arabia and Russia with the 34% fall with the price of oil.
9 March

WHO declares the outbreak as a Pandemic.
US Restricts travel from Europe for 30 days (except the UK) to control the exponential spread.
At the time the US confirmed 1,322 confirmed cases with 38 deaths.
EXTRA NOTES:
• China and Italy have locked down large parts of their countries in the last two months.
• Many airlines have grounded their flights and have slashed their routes.
• Many people around the world are deciding to stay at home and forego any travel to combat the spread of Covid-19.
• Hotels and restaurants have axed jobs as less people are going out to eat.
